I’m linking up again today to talk more about – you guessed it – books! Thanks to Lesley and Taylor for hosting!
1. Which book could you read over and over? Why?
I read The Hobbit and The Secret Garden over and over again as a child. Otherwise, I’m not usually big on re-reading books (though I’m working on re-reading War and Peace right now). I’m the same way with movies. What’s done is done.
2. If you could be any character from any book you’ve read, who would you be?
I have so many answers to this but the one that first popped in to my head was Arya Stark from the Song of Fire and Ice books. She’s a wily little badass who’s had some great adventures.
3. Do you ever put a book down because you just can’t get into it? Or do you stick it out to the bitter end? Any examples?
I will absolutely straight-up stop reading a crappy book. I even have a folder in my Kindle titled “Eh” for books I can’t get in to. Right now, it contains Burnt Mountain (Anne Rivers Siddons), A Casual Vacancy (J.K. Rowling – oops – our current book club read), and all three of the Hunger Games series (Suzanne Collins). Y’all I tried for months on the last three, but could.no.do.it.
4. Show us your book shelves! Do you have one designated spot in your house for all your books? Do you scatter them around?
My bookshelves now do not match my bookshelves a year ago. When we moved to Hawaii, we left most of our massive book collection in storage, so what I’ve pictured here are the books we consider cream of the crop. Back in NC, nine big boxes of books are keeping a few pieces of furniture in a storage garage. I like to use books to decorate, so there are stacks of them under picture frames and lamps and suchall over the house.

I hope at some point to read War and Peace for a first time, so I'm super impressed that you're going for your second round! And aside from Harry Potter (which I am entirely way too obsessed with), I kind of avoid the big trendy series. I almost started reading Hunger Games, but I just can't bring myself to start. Oh, and by the way, Downton Abbey is amazing! It took me until episode 3 to get into it, but I'm totally engrossed now!
